On October 18 the Final Race of the Austrian Championship was held in Großhöflein. For Team Mibag Honda Schmidinger it was a really successful season. Andreas and Günter Schmidinger were riding on Honda CRF 450R in the Open class and Aljosa Molnar, Roland Edelbacher and Florian Hellrigl werde riding on Honda CRF250R in the MX2 class. After a lot of Rain the Track was deep and demanding, but the organiser did a great job and it was a good Race at thge End. Florian Hellrigl tried to do some Laps in the Qualifying, but had to accept, that it made no sense with his shoulder injury, so he was not able to compete in the Races.
At the Start to the first MX 2 Heat Roland Edelbacher was in Position 2 and Aljosa Molnar in Position 6. Aljosa was taking no Risk at all and made a tactical Race. He landed on Position 7 at the End and was 23 Points ahead before the Last Heat and had only to bring home another safe Race to secure the Title. Roland Edelbacher was doing a great Race and was riding the fastest Lap of the Race and landed on Position 3, again on the Podium.
In the first MX Open Heat Günter was on Position 2. A very aggressive move on him forced him into a crash and he luckily was not getting injured and able to finish the Race in Position 4. Andreas still had problems with his injury of his Ribs from Kirchschlag and did a consistent Race and ended on Position 9.
At the Start to the second MX2 Heat Roland Edelbacher was in Position 6 and did another great Race. He finished in Position 5 and was able to do good in the Overall Ranking. In the Championship Standings he landed on Position 8. Aljosa Molnar had no good Start, but was already in Position 8 after the first Lap and in Position 6 after Lap 2. From there on he just controlled the Race and took no risk anymore. He did his job and secured with Position 6 in the Race, the Austrian MX2 Championship Title 2015 on Honda CRF 250R for Team Mibag Honda Schmidinger. Agreat success for the hole Team that was celebrated immediately after he crossed the finishline. Florian Hellrigl landed on Position 10 in the Championship Standings.
At the Start to the second MX Open Heat Günter and Andreas were in Front at the Start and Günter was in Position 2 afterwards. He was able to defend his Position and build a Gap. Anyway just before the End of the Race he had again no Luck in this season and a Stone forced his Chain to jump over at the Sprocket and athe Rear wheel was blocked very hard. He was not able to finish the Race. Andreas was doing even better in race 2 and had a good Result at the Last heat of the Season. With Position 6 he ended a very successful season and can do some recovery now. In the Championship Günter landen on Position 3 and Andreas on Position 4.
The Teamresults are great, as all 5 Teamriders were at least once on the Podium this season and the MX2 Champiojnship Title is a great success. Thanks to all our Sponsors and Teammembers who made this happen!
